Quiz Night - Wednesday 18th March 2009

The South Devons Club challenged the Cornwall Simmental Club to a quiz evening on the 18th March. Held in the conservatory of the Victoria Inn Roche we enjoyed a convivial evening.
Mr & Mrs Glen Bryant set the seven teams the challenge of identifying 20 celebrities from their photographs, including several heavily disguised personalities, and answering four sets of questions under the headings of geography, 70’s music, families and general knowledge. The students of University Challenge or the boffins of Eggheads need fear the prowess displayed in the competitive atmosphere.

Marking of the papers drew hoots of laughter as participants discovered the errors in their responses. Surprisingly the Simmental teams filled the top three spots with Penny’s team, comprising of Angela & Stephen Pearce and Jim Buckland, emerging as the winners by the narrowest margin of ½ point.
Undaunted the South Devons Club requested the opportunity to seek their revenge in a rematch in 2010.
